So, you wanna buy a nice Collector’s Edition? I can get it for you retail.
Thanks, I’m here all week. The veal is on special.
Imagine you get to work with Robb Waters, the concept artist who visualized the cover of System Shock. The Trickster in Thief. Man-Bot in Freedom Force. BioShock’s Little Sisters. Sander Cohen. And BioShock Infinite’s Songbird.
Now imagine you can get him to personally conceive and oversee the production of the coolest statue in the world.
Then imagine we put that huge sucker in a period-style box, with custom artwork by Robb and Irrational concept artist Jorge Lacera. And that box went IN the collector’s edition box so you could leave that guy unpunched in his original packaging while you tear happily into the rest of the goodies.
Now imagine that 9-and-a-half-inch statue looked like this:
That monster is what’s in the Ultimate Songbird Edition of BioShock Infinite. But if your sugar daddy won’t pony up for the whole megillah, there’s also the Premium Edition, which includes a giant pile of swag:
- A 3-inch baby version keychain of the sold-out Murder of Crows vigor bottle replica.
- A 5 x 7-inch lithograph by Jorge Lacera.
- A 25 millimeter, resin-cast Handyman miniature from the upcoming BioShock Infinite board game by Plaid Hat Games, makers of Summoner Wars.
- A mini art book, full of BioShock Infinite concept art and commentary, with a hand-distressed cover.
- Various digital goodies: exclusive in-game gear, a digital soundtrack, and platform specific downloadable content (Avatar costumes for Xbox 360, and Themes for PC and PlayStation 3).
Of course, all of the above is also included in the Ultimate Songbird Edition. And for the true nerds in the audience, the Songbird statue, the Murder of Crows keychain, and the Handyman all come in separate custom packaging.
Both Collector’s Editions will be available in limited quantities, so yadda yadda, sign your life away right now!
You owe it to yourself (and to poor, sad Ken Levine, who can always be spotted by his tiny crutch that sits forlornly by the Christmas dinner table) to check the thing out in this lovely display made by our amazing web team. I like it. My mother likes it. So it must be good.
ALL COLLECTOR EDITIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER IN EUROPE AND AUSTRALIA STARTING MONDAY OCTOBER 22nd

What about when you announced at last year’s E3 that the PlayStation3 would get BioShock 1 ?
ig.leonie | October 18, 2012 9:10 am
That is correct. All PlayStation 3 versions have BioShock 1 on the disc.
theswigz | October 18, 2012 9:16 am
Fantastic! Even though I have all the trophies, this is by far one of my favorite titles on any console.
candycoatedepic | October 21, 2012 2:58 pm
I agree, I demand satisfaction!

Great news! Can u plz tell me the exact or as u see now in your development progress the system requirements for Bioshock Infinite. I got a very medium( or lower than that now) PC: Core2Duo E 7300 at 2.66 GhZ, 4 GB DDR2 Rams, Nvidia (GeForce ) GTS 450 videocard with 1 GB ram on it. Hope i can play it well if not on the highest but medium-highest settings, would be cool. The other 1 iz rather a question 1 guess: what’s your Oppinion about Dishonored? 🙂 A truly great fan from Hungary. Respect to you and your team for making so fucking great games. Cannot w8 for BI !!! 😀 Wish you the best 🙂
ig.leonie | October 18, 2012 9:33 am
Hi there – we will release system specs a little bit further down the line, stay tuned! Also – you can see what Ken thinks about Dishonored here: https://twitter.com/IGLevine/status/255324420992802818 🙂
egonthehun | October 18, 2012 11:55 am
Thank you very much for the reply 🙂
theswigz | October 18, 2012 9:15 am
Premium it is for me! Love the Songbird statue, but I have nowhere to put it! Great looking CEs either way.
billiamb | October 18, 2012 9:58 am
I have been clamoring to nobody but myself that there should be a Bioshock board game for years! I am so stoked for everything that is going on in this post.. I may just pump my fist in the air in tribulation!
spacedesperado | October 18, 2012 10:06 am
Will this contain the exact same content from the Dark Horse artbook on sale at amazon or will they be somehow differentiated besides the size and look of the cover?
ig.leonie | October 18, 2012 10:29 am
It will be a sampling of what is in the larger art book 🙂
waggler | October 18, 2012 10:13 am
Will the PS3 version still support Move and 3D? I see neither logo on the cover. Thanks.
ig.leonie | October 18, 2012 10:30 am
yes it will!
waggler | October 18, 2012 10:31 am
Awesome! Thanks!
billiamb | October 18, 2012 12:17 pm
This game just keeps on giving.. Original Bioshock, 3D and Move support… must figure out how to glue the big move ball to the end of my incoming Skyhook replica…
dannysal | October 18, 2012 4:58 pm
Leonie, is the Xbox version getting any love as well (either Kinect support and/or 3D)? Thank you.
ig.leonie | October 19, 2012 11:44 am
The X360 will also support 3D, but no Kinect. Hope that helps!
juan29zapata | October 18, 2012 10:20 am
I knew those pictures were for a CE!
One question, I’d love to get the complete artbook, even if I had to pay more. It would be better for me, since I won’t have two books for one thing!
fruhmann | October 18, 2012 11:07 am
Is the pc retail a steam works version? That’s pretty clutch now.
ig.leonie | October 18, 2012 11:14 am
Hi fruhmann – yes – the PC retail version is a steam works version!
wzander | October 18, 2012 12:10 pm
For some reason I can’t reserve either of the collector’s edition. Are they sold out already?! Are they not available in the U.S. until the 22nd??
Thanks
ig.leonie | October 18, 2012 12:16 pm
Hi wzander, it is taking all the retailers some time to get their websites updated. I believe GameStop has it up already, and others will follow later today. Amazon, BestBuy et cetera, all the major retailers will have it up shortly. Sorry for the wait!
ssri | October 18, 2012 12:17 pm
Hey Ken,
I’m trying to give you my money. 150 of my dollars to be exact. But I can’t find a good link to the Ultimate Songbird Edition for North America.
WTF?

movegamer | October 18, 2012 1:29 pm
Will the game have Move support for the entire game (i.e. the FULL campaign and mutiplayer modes) or will Move support be limited to just a few parts of the game?
Thank you in advance for the reply.
movegamer | October 18, 2012 1:47 pm
Just like to point out, that i am not reserving BioShock Infinite till i know for sure that the full game supports the Move.
I am not going get burnt by buying the game expecting a full move experience, and then get it home and find out that move is only supported in some minigame or something.
mrpash | October 18, 2012 1:35 pm
Two weeks after I already paid for the game in full Haha. I want to give you more money for the ultimate, please take it and tell me how I can switch my order. Hbugs and s*@# 🙂
dannysal | October 18, 2012 1:47 pm
THAT’S what I am talking about!!
ripthorn | October 18, 2012 1:51 pm
Hey Ken,
Can you say if The Ultimate Songbird edition package will be over 1000g?
If it is above 1000g, I will have problems in importing 🙁
ig.leonie | October 18, 2012 4:32 pm
Yes it will be. But, which country are you from? They will be available for pre-order internationally starting this Monday…I can tell you which retailer to keep an eye on 😉
ripthorn | October 18, 2012 9:15 pm
I live in Brazil. I would be grateful if you could tell me a store that might send to Brazil.
ig.leonie | October 19, 2012 9:22 am
Alright – stand-by. I’ll find out….
ig.leonie | October 19, 2012 9:50 am
alright ripthorn, . we expect both Livreria Saraiva and UZ Games in Brazil to stock the CE’s, keep an eye on those two 🙂
ripthorn | October 19, 2012 11:58 am
Thank you, Leonie 🙂
The problem will be the price, but pay more than regret it later.

knightcarver | October 19, 2012 3:58 am

bioshockenergy | October 19, 2012 11:00 am
I’m in the UK and want to pre-order this but I can’t find it on any UK retailer websites, Any idea when this will hit the UK amazon website? please help!!
ig.leonie | October 19, 2012 11:45 am
Hi bioshockenergy, it will be available in the UK for pre-order starting this coming Monday, oct 22!
ohdae5u | October 22, 2012 4:41 pm
Hi, I just contacted Amazon.co.uk and they had this to say:-
“We have not listed the item in the website still. We have also not received any information from the supplier. Once we receive the information from the supplier we will list in our website.”
I have also checked all of the suppliers and none of them have the Ultimate Songbird Edition listed.
Any idea when we can expect to see it?
icegrove | October 19, 2012 9:09 pm
Finally the last piece is missing to be ready for feb!
carbonbeast | October 20, 2012 11:16 am
The Ultimate Songbird Edition is one coolest collector editions i ever saw the only thing i have to criticize is the digital soundtrack. For me already quite often such downloads failed and there was no way to re-download. why not just spend $1 more for a second CD? 😉
quancro | October 21, 2012 11:35 pm
Already did the preoder …..
cward127 | October 23, 2012 6:57 am
When is the songbird edition coming to uk? so far we only have the premium version on all the sites listed
cward127 | October 23, 2012 7:07 am
Found it nevermind game.co.uk had exlucsivity and toook there time…
rockzombie | October 30, 2012 4:09 pm
Exclusive to GAME, which you probably already know by now. I’ve ordered mine already, woohoo!
studiedapollo8 | October 26, 2012 10:45 pm
is there any other advatage to buying the Songbird eddition other than the statue? because I would rather spend $80 than have to spend $150 for something that only has one extra thing from the $80 version I don’t really care about the statue I really only care about the other stuff.
lhallfin | February 23, 2013 1:41 pm
I like the video that details the songbird.
So you know collectors huh?
Ken, I love you, but if you do know collectors, you know we NEED to know:
A) Exactly how many Songbird statues are being made?
B) Are they being numbered or Authenticated in any way?
If that stuff isn’t happening, its not collectible, its just really neat stuff.
