That could easily describe Columbia if referring to the 1950’s Senator and not of course the Beatle. Unless there is maybe a sunken yellow submarine somewhere.

I believe you’re mistaking “McCarthy” for “McCartney.” In this case Nate was actually referring to the author Cormac McCarthy.

Haha, I wasn’t mistaken but the similarity was in fact the basis of the joke. That Senator Joseph McCarthy (the infamous communist chaser and persecutor) last name could easily be confused with the legendary Beatle Paul McCartney (who of course wrote the song Yellow Submarine and the lyric “we all live in a yellow submarine”. ) Therefore only if the yellow submarine was sunk would both futures be dystopias.
But my bad, because any joke that you have to try and explain isn’t a good joke.
