Machinima posted a new, exclusive BioShock Infinite video today, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the process of giving a voice to the lead roles, Booker Dewitt and Elizabeth. In the video, you’ll get to see Creative Director Ken Levine and voice actors Troy Baker and Courtnee Draper explain who their characters are, what makes them tick, and how their relationship will help tell the story of BioShock Infinite in this first of two behind-the-scenes videos.
Stay tuned for part 2 of 2 soon!

Voice acting has always been an interest of mind, so thank you for all these glimpses into the process, IG. It’s fascinating.
Hell, I got excited during that brief fly-through of the city at the beginning of the video. LOL. And I couldn’t take my eyes off the poster on the easel behind Troy and Courtnee. Makes me wonder what kind of art you have up around the office, both from this game and from other sources.

Awesome video, can’t wait for part 2. It’s really nice to see the level of attention that the acting and characters are getting with this project. This has been something that’s fascinated me since playing Soul Reaver 2 back in the day, with all of its behind-the-scenes content and bloopers. I think games like this and the Uncharted series, who place a clear emphasis on the acting that brings characters and storytelling to life, and that don’t mind putting the spotlight on this aspect, are paving the way for the future of gaming!

This process is very cool in that you guys are carefully crafting each moment to perfectly suit each situation. It already comes across as highly believable and intriguing. Another aspect I appreciate is having less cooks in the kitchen. There aren’t so many different creative perspectives that the original idea becomes diluted. Just the footage we’ve been shown already instills confidence that you guys are knocking this way out of the park.
