Irrational knows that it’s always best to cook it slow. When it’s done in 2012, we’re all gonna be like POW right in the kisser!
facture | August 24, 2010 10:13 am
You mean like the “one-two punch”? lol.
batmanprime | August 20, 2010 9:50 pm

It always makes me glad that I am a gamer when games that step away from the crowd get recognition.
systemaddict | August 24, 2010 12:47 am
You guys deserve it. Great work!

Well, there is a specific “vision” that Irrational Games has that I think many others game developers just don’t have. The whole Bioshock franchise is branded throughout so well that the final package and its’ ideas raise a bar of interactivity that many other games could only dream about. I think what the Bioshock franchise does so well is really pull in the gamer/user through so many well thought out mediums that it becomes a fully integrated experience. The music, the sounds, colors, Art Deco inspired architecture. It’s a well oiled machine and many other games focus on maybe one or two aspects of the final game, that they tend to over look the subtleties of what makes Bioshock a truly exceptional experience. Say the sounds of the vending machines in the first game, or tiny “paid-attention” details implemented into every nook and cranny of their games. The world that is built in and around Bioshock makes you want to explore it, be a part of it and some may say, really want to live in it (minus the Splicers). It’s really no surprise to me that they won the award. They are gifted artists and programmers and they deserve it.
