BioShock Infinite has been on store shelves for a few months now, so we thought we’d reward our fans by giving away a handful of Xbox Live Avatar Items. If you haven’t had a chance to see the entire collection so far, simply click here to see everything offered. This week, we’re starting off with the Boys of Silence Helmet, since we all know how much you enjoyed your trip to the Warden’s Office.

Boys of Silence XBL Avatar Item

For your chance to win one of the above, all you need to do is comment once below, and let us know your favorite Vigor in BioShock Infinite, and why. We’ll randomly choose our winners from all those that leave a comment, and each winner will get a code for the XBL Avatar Item seen above. Please make sure to read the fine print below for full details, and we’ll likely have a few more of these giveaways over the coming weeks.

All entries must be posted by Thursday, July 11th @ 11:59PM ET to be considered. Irrational Games will pick a maximum of (50) random commenters from all entrants to win this prize. Only one entry per username is permitted for each giveaway, and each individual may only have one IrrationalGames.com account. You must be aged 17 and older, and not a Take Two / 2K Games / Irrational Games employee, or affiliated with an Irrational Games employee to be eligible. Winners will be contacted via private message on their registered IrrationalGames.com account to claim their prize.

On my first play through it was Undertow, I loved pulling people to me and blasting them apart with the hand cannon.

Second play though it was Possession, made the 1999 mode a tiny bit easier.

So far on my current play though, it’s Murder of Crows simply because of how cool and macabre it is.

I love the “Murder of Crows”. There’s nothing more satisfying than watching your enemy occupy themselves while you strategize all the other ways you can defeat them. That and the nearly countless combination of vigors only amplifies the affects that Bioshock fans have been wanting since day one.

Murder of Crows was definitely my favourite Vigor. When in a sticky situation, it really helped out as it attacked multiple targets at once. The fact that you have the ability to set a trap with this Vigor was also very useful because it often helped to alert me to enemies that I hadn’t noticed.

On 1999 I found Bucking Bronco to be the most useful, and the scary horse scream is awesome!
Other difficulties would be Devil’s Kiss with the Storm gear. The combination effectively lets you sprint through areas because of the repeated splash damage.
Those two vigors used in tandem are perfect too. 🙂

It’s more or less the spiritual successor to my favorite plasmid (Insect Swarm), the egg traps they left behind made taking out groups of enemies a lot easier and being able to combo with both Devil’s Kiss for damage or Shock Jockey for stun duration saved my skin in 1999 Mode.

Plus, you shoot ravens from your hands. That’s awesome in any context.

Possession is an amazing offensive weapon against average enemies since, as long as you keep your Salts up, you can use it to kill many enemies in succession. Of course this isn’t exactly efficient Salts-wise, but if you think you’re surrounded and need a quick way to narrow their numbers, it’s the quickest way.

Plus, if you run out of Salts, the last person you used it on helps you. 🙂

My favorite is Shock Jockey, it’s just so fun to use the crystal traps with everyone! Except most of the Heavy Hitters, of course.

At the second half of the game I liked to use Return to Sender, though, the trap attack is as fun as Shock Jockey’s, and very, very helpful, too!

Possession for sure. It was the best way to get one less opponent shooting at me and one more ally to distract the other enemies. And when the vigor ended, the enemy would off himself so it preserved my ammo too. Really useful vigor.

For me, it would have to be Return to Sender. I didn’t even use it or know how to use it throughout my first playthrough but when it came to the last boss on 1999 mode, it was a life saver or should I say a generator saver. Just being able to place balls of it around the generator saved me so much sanity and gave me the glorious achievement

Before I played, I really thought the Murder of Crows would be my favorite, but I didn’t like the way enemies reacted to it. Possession is probably my favorite, since it’s been very helpful at drawing fire away from me when I back myself into a corner. I also love the money it gets me from vending machines!

Man that was such a good part of the game…usually no games ever scare me but since there had been no jump scares up to that point, it nailed me like a train. I would have to say that my favorite vigor is Return to Sender. It was a huge suprise because I thought I had found all the vigors and I abused the heck out of it the minute I snagged it. Whats not to love from a shiel/bomb/ammo catcher. It allowed me to play the last parts of the game guns a ‘blazin.’

Best vigor – Murder of Crows
Why – Aesthetically, the vial containing this vigor is the darkest and most appealing. The introduction (with the Chinese worker) is the most brutal, the in game graphics when used in the midst of battle makes everything seem more intense. Plus functionally in game, the vigor is useful in making enemies weaker and the traps that form from the fallen provide a continous defence as long as you’ve enough bullets
