Complex.com had a chance to chat with Ken Levine while Irrational Games was at New York Comic Con this past weekend, where he was able to talk about some of his influences from comics and film, and of course, how they are being applied in BioShock Infinite. Take a look.
In the video above, you’ll see Levine chat about his love for comics and why comic conventions are important to him, as well as how famous horror movies have helped guide the way Irrational tells a scary story. Along with that, Ken also explains some of the approaches used when designing the game world of Columbia and the various factions found within, giving some extra insight in how BioShock Infinite is created.

Oh dear – yes, that looks like it’s an RSS Reader issue. If you click through from IrrationalGames.com, it *should* work fine.

I can’t get the video to work either, but I can imagine Ken’s response! *Tries to imagine* No dammit, I can’t get into his mind.

I like how previous things inspired him to create something of his own. Also not duplicating those things but to create his own with a little bit of a push. Good job on creating an epic game!

I had no idea that the cover art of BioShock 1 was inspired by Jack Kirby…
