The world is about to change for BioShock Infinite fans.
For the very first time, media from all over the world got their hands on BioShock Infinite. They sat down with the first few hours of the game and played it to their heart’s content: hands on and no holds barred.
Some of their coverage has already hit the web. PC Gamer said:
I’ve just played the first five hours of BioShock Infinite, and I’ve come away with the same dazed feeling I got after I first played Half-Life 2. It’s a sensory overload: a relentless series of staggering sights, astonishing events, and more story and detail and mysteries than I could possibly absorb.
Work on the game is now down to final polish and bugfixing. In order to give the team a few more weeks of this polish, the release date of BioShock Infinite is March 26th.
We know that this is going to ruffle some feathers. But we’re willing to take the heat to make sure that BioShock Infinite is 100% the game our fans deserve.
You can count on a lot more updates coming soon. Don’t miss a thing. Stay in the loop by following us on Twitter or liking us on Facebook.

No worries here about the delay. I read the preview on joystiq, and it sounded fantastic. I like the shift in focus from order to faith. I always knew the game would be controversial, but hearing details (like the section devoted to John Wilkes Booth) really brought that point home. Irrational is going to ruffle feathers….like all good art should. 😉

I’m not bothered by the delay. What’s one month for a game like this?
Can’t wait!
puch | December 7, 2012 9:48 am
No worries, Ken. A lot better to release a flawless game a bit later that scheduled than releasing a bug ridden game that needs an immediate patch
Very much looking forward to the release!
japester | December 7, 2012 10:51 am
No game is released in flawless condition.
😉

And this is one more month I was going to need to get enough money for the Ultimate Songbird Edition at the price they’re going to sell it at mu country!

Sad face, but also happy face. More polish = better game. We’ve been waiting years for this one, another month won’t kill anybody.
crezth | December 7, 2012 10:49 am
Take all the time you need.
ediazdeleon | December 7, 2012 11:19 am
If it means a more polished game in time for my birthday then I’m glad to wait
raimundo12m | December 7, 2012 11:57 am
I don’t care about the delay, I’ve been reading nothing but great thing about Infinite and I can’t wait to have this game in my hands. One thing though; with the extra month of polish, can you add a gameplay feature? I know this sound crazy but hear me out; have a Slide mechanic, like the one you find in Dishonored or Far Cry 3. I’ve been playing those games and that feature has really change the way movement is treated in FPS’s. I mean, I can’t imagine playing FPS without that feature going forward, I believe that sliding is here to stay, and what better way to keep the feature alive than by having it in more games. Just a suggestion from a really big fan. If is not included, it’s ok, I’ll still love you games and love the games you make. Big love.

It only means I’ll have more foam on my mouth,by the time Infinite is released ^^
Anyways I agree with the delay and can only wish them best luck to them knowing they’ll deliver something grand.

This delay does not bother me. I look forward to playing this game. We can all wait just a bit more…

I’m happy to see the reception the demo is receiving from the press. March isn’t that far away, good luck with the final push, guys!
rifqispecialist | December 7, 2012 10:56 pm
They got the complete game earlier when we have to wait for four months. They should release a demo on PSN and XBL.
crackgoblin | December 8, 2012 11:09 am
overall i don’t think the majority will mind the month delay. id rather have the game be more polished and i think that’s the general consensus
russellgorall | December 8, 2012 11:56 am
I was a bit worried by what I saw last night.
Mainly the fact of the A button cues for jumping I saw, and the HUD is minimalist but maybe a bit too much minimalist. If they used the cues I saw from the 2011 E3 demo, yet a bit smaller?, that would be awesome.

News of a game you are looking forward to playing being delayed is always bittersweet. I have a gaming backlog right now so the delay is welcomed news to me.
gonzofan | December 10, 2012 1:04 pm
Assuming I can live that long, I’d wait forever because Bioshock is going to rock the game world. I’ve got to finish BOII, H4, Warfighter, and, of course, Zombies, so I’m going to be busy in the meantime.
icegrove | December 12, 2012 8:46 pm
I want to try too.
maxdewitt | December 12, 2012 9:38 pm
BEST GAME EVER ! I CANT WAIT
ihsnet | December 12, 2012 11:10 pm

deaddoucher | December 13, 2012 8:51 pm
You took all my moneys :{
felixh88 | December 27, 2012 7:52 pm
Nothing wrong with this on my end. As long as the outcome results in the best possible experience for us gamers/fans, then I’ll patiently wait till March. Not that long now anyway.
riseup44 | December 29, 2012 12:02 am
looks so amazing i can not wait to play
Kennedy | January 18, 2013 3:08 pm
This is kinda bullshit. I’m sure the game will be fine, but if there is one more push back on the release date I might reconsider my pre-order.
squito1 | January 22, 2013 3:46 pm
In my oppinion Irrational Games is one of the few game producer that really knows what gaming is all about. Why? thats simple. They have no need for an multiplayer you dont even need internetconnection to play the single player and thats what its all about. To play. Not to worry about to be the best in multiplayer games or else where. You are the best in your own game. You turn the game on and get lost in the world of Bioshock. Irrational Games concentrates on the single payer experience and i can wait. I waited 2 years and i can wait 1 or 2 months more. And its worth it! I love you Irrational Games and I always will.
