The audio team at Irrational is an inspiring crew, creating emotions and subtle tones out of thin air. While many of our fans have heard some of the iconic songs, there’s also a number of reoccurring tones and themes that occur via specific actions in-game. Since BioShock Infinite‘s release, we’ve seen much praise from our fans regarding the soundtrack and subtle interludes, but one request has been popping up time and time again, and we’re here to deliver with a few custom ringtones taken straight from the game. Inside the downloadable .zip below, you’ll find the following five tones:
- Songbird Tune
- Songbird Call
- Lovers Inflamed
- Value Appreciation
- Salt Machine Tone
Download .MP3 pack here (For Android and other devices)
Download .M4R pack here (Forย iOS devices)
We also have two more ringtones available exclusively via Major Nelson:
- Step On Up
- New Objective
We’re looking at potentially creating another batch of these as well, so if you have any specific requests, post a comment below and let us know. Please note that we generally cannot use specific songs from the game or in-game voices for ringtones.
hellkaiser | April 26, 2013 1:04 pm
Perhaps the songbird noise as a notification?
k0ola1dm4n | April 26, 2013 1:10 pm
maybe the luteces talking about whether or not your phone is ringing…
blacksongbird | April 26, 2013 1:45 pm
I like the way you think ๐
czarking | April 26, 2013 7:53 pm
What does it matter, rang, rings, will ring. Its all a matter of perspective.
themuffin | April 26, 2013 9:25 pm
This. I wonder if Jennifer Hale and Ray Carbonel would be willing to spend an hour and do that.
themuffin | April 26, 2013 9:30 pm
Err… Oliver Vaquer. The other fella did his motion capture.
cohennoreally | April 28, 2013 3:55 pm
This is likely the best idea I have seen yet
maltj | April 26, 2013 1:14 pm
Elizabeth saying “Here take this!” or one of her lines from giving Booker items would make an awesome ringtone. At least text tone.
charthero | April 26, 2013 1:16 pm
que genial los pondria en mi celular (si tan solo a mi celular se le pudiera poner ringtones)
robrossipher | April 26, 2013 1:20 pm
What about one with Robert Lutece saying “Pick up the phone, and wipe away the debt.” ?
maaxi7 | April 26, 2013 1:38 pm
The tone “new objective” sounds slightly wrong, they can upload it with better quality?
onashtreelane | April 26, 2013 1:53 pm
Maybe Elizabeth singing “will the circle be unbroken”.
krisalyx | April 26, 2013 1:55 pm
why not um the soft ragtimey piano from the “tail” end of track 2 of the ost “welcome to columbia” or the full version of “will the circle be unbroken” or jessy carolina’s “fortunite son” or “wild prarie rose” they work to oh i wanted to ask y’all HOW IN TARNATION do you get the ringtones to work on tracfone handsets?
drkill | April 26, 2013 2:23 pm
Luteces saying “answer or reject”
nuriamana | April 26, 2013 2:31 pm
1) Motorized Patriot
2) Fireman shouting
3) A Dimwit and Duke audio clip
4) Tear opening/closing snippet
5) Boy of Silence sounding off…
troisenator | April 28, 2013 2:58 am
I second all of these and add:
1) Drinking or using vigors
2) Coin toss
3) Songbird’s various screeches
Thanks Irrational!
songbird11 | April 26, 2013 2:31 pm
How about the clicking noise the Skyhook makes when jumping between Sky-Lines? Or the noise made when Booker opens a new vigor?
gumbercules | April 26, 2013 2:57 pm
I’d like a Boy of Silence sound in the next batch!
mauvins | April 26, 2013 4:36 pm
The tune that plays when you charge the power conduits with Shock Jockey would be perfect as a text tone!
emayai | April 26, 2013 4:43 pm
I really want Songbird’s screech as a text tone
ledtrousers | April 26, 2013 5:08 pm
Skyhook, The Zeppelin horn/honk sound, maybe a few Vigor sounds, like the sound you get when using possession on turrets & vendors, and the Piano stingers from exploding heads & skyhook executions
sanfordmay | April 26, 2013 5:34 pm
I second Zeppelin, new vigor opens, charging power conduits via Shock Jockey and something Boy of Silence. There are some other good ideas, but remember what they said about using specific songs and/or in-game voices. Some things they can’t distribute as ringtones due to licensing issues and prior agreements with voice talent.
I’m surprised more studios don’t put out ringtones like this. Not a lot of game sound design is so good as BioShock Infinite’s, but there are definitely some and those sound effects would make great ring and text tones.
miiamigo | April 26, 2013 5:50 pm
Would you kindly release ye ol’ BioShock sound files too? Some Lil Sis, Mr B, Cohen, Ryan, Atlas, Circus of Values and El Ammo Bandito machines.
ryebread | April 26, 2013 6:34 pm
Through the link to Major Nelson, he has some original Bioshock audio. Here it is! http://majornelson.com/2008/04/03/bioshock-audio/
vitek | April 26, 2013 5:58 pm
“Pick up a phone and wipe away the dept” treated idea I ever seen)) thanks Irrational games for songs!)
korg | April 26, 2013 5:59 pm
Kinda surprised no one’s mentioned it yet but the sound of Elizabeth tossing you money (or ammo, or health or salts) is one of the most satisfying thing in the game and would be a great text tone on it’s own.
houd1ni | April 26, 2013 6:18 pm
Thanks! Now when are the alert tones coming?
houd1ni | April 26, 2013 6:23 pm
Sorry. Just realized Songbird Call and Salt Machine theme are GREAT for texts!
ryebread | April 26, 2013 6:30 pm
I’m voting for a sound from the ammo machine, when it says “Dangerous times, dangerous measures, protect your women and your treasures” — I laughed every time I heard that!
tservo3k | April 26, 2013 6:55 pm
The startup noise of the Voxophone sounded cool.
Also – seconding the sound when you catch a coin from Elizabeth.
theglitchy | April 26, 2013 6:57 pm
Would really like an instrumental ringtone of the musical piece during the fresh hair ad from Bioshock 1; it’s memorable because it plays on the title screen for a bit and fades out, but it never got released on a soundtrack. :/

legobenj | April 26, 2013 8:09 pm
I think that sound that plays when combat finishes would be awesome.

voxphone startup

while I’m at it, every single song in the game.

I’d really love the gay quartet song but I understand that would be difficult.
thepezking639 | April 27, 2013 12:25 am
Please Oh, Please, the fog horn sequence between the lighthouse and columbia, i think that would make an awesome ringtone or an alarm to wake up to.
mikedanger | April 27, 2013 12:48 am
Seconding the request for the Shock Jockey bells and the lighthouse foghorns (maybe the lighthouse bells as well?)
megascience | April 27, 2013 2:24 am
I’ve been so distracted lately – I’m trying to force myself to remember anything not covered here which would also work with the fact you can’t use some songs and voices… But all I came up with was the Vox singing at Shantytown…. Dang.
morwhen | April 27, 2013 5:18 am
something from robert and rosalind lutece would be awesome!!
like “heads or tails” or something ๐
legomaple | April 27, 2013 5:27 am
Thanks! I love these!
Some I want are “Heads or tail” and “Bird or the cage” from the luteces, and “Here, Booker” From Elizabeth.
spy6868 | April 27, 2013 9:59 am
all vending machine sounds. I don’t know if double posting is allowed or not, but the more you release the better. Thanks so much for doing this.
necropriest123 | April 27, 2013 11:42 am
The song sung by Elizabeth in the graveyard shaft in shanty town
mikedsicilian | April 27, 2013 11:43 am
Who cares about ring tones, Give us more game like you should of in the first place, or maybe how about some multiplayer online, Infinite was a HUGE let down for many!
budonasty | April 27, 2013 9:14 pm
How about some shorter tones that could be assigned to text message, email and other alert notifications? Perhaps a Vigor themed pack? I was thinking of all 8 sounds that you hear when equiping/selecting a vigor.
It would be pretty sweet to hear the intense sound you get from selecting Bucking Bronco any time that you recieve a text message. Or the flapping of wings you hear when selecting Murder of Crows, or the sound from Undertow, etc. etc.
Side note: As a ringtone, I too favor the idea of the chime song that plays whenever you power something up with Shock Jockey.
whirlwind123456 | April 27, 2013 9:36 pm
what about booker saying “much obliged”
ross1601 | April 27, 2013 10:24 pm
Could you possibly get a sound clip from the end of the song that is used when fighting enemies? The little notification at the end of the song to indicate that the enemies have been cleared?
Thanks ๐
ccrocker58 | April 28, 2013 4:07 pm
Definitely would love the Shock Jockey conduit jingle and Liz’s assistance quotes.
underyourbed666 | April 28, 2013 5:26 pm
-Songbird’s screech
-“Smother, smother, smother….”
-New objective sound
mavandorax | April 28, 2013 5:40 pm
The two tone sound that plays every time your objective is updated would make a great ringtone for texts or notifications.
seanw2004 | April 28, 2013 5:53 pm
I cant seem to move the ringtones to my iphone 5. Its in the .m4r format. For some reason it won’t let me do it unless I sync my phone, which will delete everything i have on it. Any suggestions?
hayzacanak | April 28, 2013 6:07 pm
I think one of Elizabeth saying ”Booker, Look Out!” like in the commercial with the Handyman. And Smother, Smother, Smother, and even one with a bunch of Elizabeth quotes. ๐ Thanks for this first round of ringtones! they’re awesome!
vcllist | April 28, 2013 6:24 pm
I’d love some of the anachronistic songs as ringtones, plus the things the Handyman says as notifications. These are a great start, thanks Irrational!
Also, thanks for including St. James Infirmary in the game, my favorite Dixieland tune ever, I almost cried for joy when I heard it.
headsno2 | April 28, 2013 6:55 pm
I don’t know about you guys, but I think we need this ringtone:
“I appreciate a lady who appreciates value!”
headsno2 | April 28, 2013 6:56 pm
just kidding, that’s already included. disregard.
budonasty | May 5, 2013 4:55 am
You are in luck. That ringtone is already in the first pack that Irrational released. It is titled “Value Appreciation”. Enjoy! ๐
budonasty | May 5, 2013 4:57 am

murdercleese | April 28, 2013 8:41 pm
I definitely would like a Lutece’s arguing about something ringtone as well as a God Only Knows ringtone by the Bee Sharps.
yamazaki | April 29, 2013 4:29 am
Oh how about the sound effect when your using Bucking Bronco.
ethermay | April 29, 2013 8:00 am
I would absolutely love to have the tone that plays when you use the melee to finish an enemy (that symphony/strings excited reactive sound) AWESOME for text! Please ?
insectswarm | April 29, 2013 5:17 pm
Wow. Ringtones?
Damn Irrational you really need to go independent. 2K has a tight grip on you.
callumctaylor | May 5, 2013 3:17 am
I don’t remember pay a cent for them, so what’s the problem!?
destiny | April 29, 2013 9:47 pm
My call ringtone and notification noise are both the Songbird Ringtones. <3
As for the suggestion, I think the hardcore violin when you finish a battle would be a cool ringtone. Also the previously suggested Shock Jockey as well.
iamchaos | April 30, 2013 2:12 am
“booker, catch!”
“much obliged”
“booker, are you afraid of god? no, i’m afraid of you”
and any lutece quote would be ringtones/notifications tones i would LOVE.
booker1912 | May 2, 2013 1:48 pm
I agree 10000000000000000000000% With the Lutece quotes. They were my favorite characters in the game!!!

IG.J | May 1, 2013 8:59 am
The files are inside a .zip, so you need to download them to your PC/Mac first, then copy them over to your phone.
thepalerider | May 1, 2013 2:48 pm
i have the new iphone 5 and i can get all of the files to my phone except for the songbird ones which r the ones that i wanted the most when i sync them to my iphone it says the files can not be found but all the other ones can be
biorichtofen | May 1, 2013 11:43 pm
I would like the little jingle or bell that the security automata and mosquitos make when they target an enemy and the sound the zeppelins make ( the horn that announces their arrival ). I am still waiting for the whistle that the security bots made in the original Bioshock.
leochamas | May 2, 2013 5:49 pm
How about “lived, lives, will live; died, dies, will die” or the popping sound of when your get an infusion, or maybe “difficult times takes difficult measures, protect your women and your treasures”, dude i’m having so many ideas right now
fallacy | May 3, 2013 1:48 am
We definitely need a handful of the clever exchanges between lutece(s). The short comments from Elizabeth in combat would be perfect too as well as the sound when combat ends, when you change vigors, and when you open an infusion.
It always makes me chuckle when you are out of combat and elizabeth says, “Hey! I found some money!” and you yell back “Perfect timing!” that would be a fun one. Really any of the playful comments throughout the story between Booker and Elizabeth would be perfect..like when booker says that the city is floating because of balloons for example.
I also think “bring us the girl and wipe away the debt” and the lighthouse, man, and city quotes would be great. When I think about it really anything would be awesome, but in the next pack there should definitely be some shorter tones that would work as text message notifications.
As stated by other members, a ringtone that is a conversation between lutece(s) arguing whether your is ringing or how it is has rung, is ringing, and will ring, or some other form of clever banter would make my day every time I got a call. I would actually pay for a ringtone like that. ๐
Or on the other hand, if you don’t like my ideas then why not work on those DLCs? I can only wait for so long ๐
ihsnet | May 3, 2013 3:20 pm
hehehe I love the songbird call tone ๐
sstomberg | May 4, 2013 7:33 pm
I’d like the “God Only Knows” cover ringtone.
seaofdoors | May 4, 2013 8:04 pm
Definitely either the violin that plays when you’ve just killed the final enemy in a fight, maybe the SCREEEEEEEEE of the songbird too. i’m glad you guys included the C A G E song already, and the New Objective tone is my text tone (i also have the Vend sound from Bioshock 1)
callumctaylor | May 5, 2013 3:20 am
Those music covers would be amazing… in a soundtrack too!
jaj1138 | May 5, 2013 10:13 pm
The chime sounds when you open a door with Shock Jockey would make a nice ringtone.
ildreamsli | May 5, 2013 10:41 pm

xcrucialdudex | May 13, 2013 6:09 pm
I think you should do Songbirds screeches, and calls. Also the end of the game piano notes.
octopussoup | May 15, 2013 12:55 am
There is a chime that is played when the shock jockey generator is powered up. Sounds like a door bell. I’d like to see that added.
And just quotes from elizabeth like “Look a sniper!” “Look a Lockpick”
midgey | May 16, 2013 4:35 am
Please god make one for the horrible shrieking sound Songbird makes so I never miss a call nor over sleep again

Why is there not any time frame for the download? In all honesty I would rather have the rapture film noir stuff first. But I have to thank irrational for not having some magic 1298mb unlock on day one. Because we all know that was already on the disk.

I think a cool text tone would be the sound made when Elizabeth gives coins to Booker. That *ding…SNAP* sound. Also, the sound made after a purchase in the dollar bill. I’m sure anything you guys come up with I will use though. There are a lot of other good ones here too.
gunbladexo1 | November 26, 2013 1:32 pm
One ringtone I would like to see pop up would be the alert you hear in rapture over the intercom before they start the announcements. That would be a cool tone to have for text messages.
