Official Cosplay Contest Winners!

First and foremost, thank you to all those that entered, voted, shared links, and participated in our Official Cosplay Contest. Hundreds of entries, thousands of votes, all culminating in the winners seen below. It was not an easy process for all the judges, and we’re been overwhelmed and humbled by how amazing the BioShock community continues to be throughout the years.

Our first winner was chosen by our special guest judge, Anna Ormeli. She writes:

“All of the entries were really well done, but in my opinion this particular work has everything. The similarity with the character, well conceived details, and the atmosphere surrounding it. This cosplay looks finished on all sides, and you would not feel disjointed if it was suddenly detected in-game. Also, the jacket, that awesome jacket! Due to this, my vote goes to Joshua Walker’s Robert Lutece.“

The next winner was chosen by myself (J Goldberg), Kayla Bee, and Sarah Rosa, employees of Irrational Games. Not only did we have the huge task of breaking down the hundreds of entries into just 21, but from that 21, we had to pick our single winner alongside those that would go up for fan voting. We eventually decided on the Booker cosplay from Joe Martin. We felt that the pose, combined with the fantastic craftsmanship of the outfit, really lent itself to being our singular winner. As stated previously, it took us nearly three hours just to select Joe’s entry, and the Top 20.

Finally, it was time for all of you to select your individual winner. The entire weekend was devoted to voting, and once the dust cleared, I’m still a bit shocked by just how close the Top 20 ended up. 1st and 2nd place were separated by only 5 votes! Even crazier, 1st and 20th place were separated by only 36 votes, so it was a tight race the entire weekend with people swapping places. This confirms just how amazing every single cosplay in the Top 20 was, and what a difficult choice all of our fans had to make.

Thank you once again to all our fans that took part in any way for this contest. Watching all of the entries pour in, alongside fans debating who they voted for and why, has really been an incredible experience to watch. It was incredibly difficult for all of us to pick a winner, and this entire contest has been a blast from start to finish.
